Power to the people in new Lennon video

LIVERPOOL’S biggest Lennon fans are being recruited for an artwork to be shown around the world.

Artist Candice Breitz will film what she describes as “serious” John Lennon fans in a video recording next month.

In it, they will be expected to sing Lennon’s 1970 solo album The Plastic Ono Band.

The album’s tracks include Mother, Working Class Hero, Loveand Powerto the People.

Ms Breitz is already recruiting singers, butis looking for people from the Beatle’s birth city to take part.

“I want people who’ve been fans for 30 years or more, who aren’t shy in front of a camera and want to pay tribute to John Lennon.

“We’d love some Scousers, it would be a great pity not to have a group of Liverpudlians.”
