Richard LesterI love how sugar coated and thinly veiled things were in the early part of the 1960’s. Could you imagine if some of the rumored expacades that the Fab Four had (with the ladies) were actually played out in film? A Hard Day’s Night was a nice glossed-over version of the wacky like of being a Beatle, but imagine if their next film really show it, warts and all.

I can picture a lot of the teeny boppers in the early 1960’s not being able to handle the true sexual appetite(s) of The Beatles. It’s one thing to fantasize about the boys, but following through with it was a completely different animal. Imagine what help would have been if it were not a spy spoof with that wacky boy Ringo as the lead protagonist….

“We couldn’t have shot a film about what the Beatles got up to at night as it would have been X-rated,” US producer Richard Lester joked as he presented the remastered version of “Help!”, starring the Beatles, at the San Sebastian Film Festival.

The 1965 work was a follow-up to “A Hard Day’s Night” and thus marked the second big screen appearance of the “fab-four” from Liverpool.

Richard Lester explains it all here too.

Here’s what we’ve read.
